Rules & Safety
SunRun operates in countries where heat and sun pose real risks. Please read and follow these rules every time you participate.
All events start at 6:30am sharp
We start early to avoid peak heat. Arrive 10 minutes before the start. Latecomers can still participate but will not receive an official timed result.
Bring at least 500ml of water
Water stations are not always available. You are responsible for carrying your own hydration. We recommend 750ml–1L in summer months.
Heat threshold: 38°C
If ambient temperature at race start exceeds 38°C, the event may be converted to a walk. Event directors reserve the right to cancel for safety.
Sunscreen is mandatory
Apply SPF 30 or higher to all exposed skin before arriving. UV index is typically high even in the early morning.
Know the heat illness signs
Dizziness, nausea, confusion, or stopping sweating are warning signs. If you or someone else shows these signs, stop immediately and seek shade and fluids.
Sandstorm & dust protocols
Events in Gulf countries may be cancelled if a sandstorm or high dust warning is in effect. Check the SunRun app or social media for same-day updates.
Medical emergency?
Call local emergency services immediately. UAE: 998 · Thailand: 1669 · Spain: 112 · Qatar: 999 · Singapore: 995. Every event has a designated First Aid contact — ask the event director on the day.
These rules are reviewed and updated seasonally. SunRun is a community-run event. All participants run at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. By participating you confirm you are medically fit to run.
